A Typewriter Renaissance

One might think that finding a typewriter repair store would a difficult task,  but really, it’s not as difficult to find someone who still services these fantastic bygone communication tools. When you find such a place, I hope you will find that they are as good as the Mesa Typewriter Exchange in Mesa Arizona, owned and operated by Bill Wahl.  Old Bobs Old Typewriters would spend time at the Mesa Typewriter Exchange getting typewriters repaired, or finding a great typewriter deal.

A few years back, CBS’s own Bill Geist took the opportunity to interview Bill and introduce a new generation to the typewriter.

  1. Michael Robinson says:

    To Whom It May Concern;
    Hello, my name is Michael, and I have a 1938 Underwood typewriter that my little nephew dropped and knocked the frame off. It was originally my Grandmother’s and she passed away this October and I want to restore it. I tried taking off the outer frame myself, but can’t get it back on. Help me, please. I am stuck on what to do next.
    Thank you,
